Favs of 2018
Maybe it’s because I am filling my days with more of the things that make me happy or maybe it’s because I am older but this year whooshed right by and left behind sprinkles of moments. I have always tucked away my favorite images of the year in a folder on my hard drive that were all perfect and what I thought was my best work. This year I found that I loved the imperfect moments more than the perfect ones, I found an emotional connection back to the moment when the photo was taken. Some of these photos are from my personal life but I take my professional life very personally so really everything is personal.
I am someone who submerges herself in nostalgia on the daily so if nobody else looks at this lengthy display of moments at least I will have this collection to watch myself grow.
I want to thank everyone who gave me the opportunity to photograph themselves and their loved ones. It brings me the greatest joy to witness authentic emotions, interactions, and connections between people. I hope I can do this for a long long time.
I suggest playing a favorite song of mine while scrolling through with some of my favorite lyrics ever on this earth “Life’s too short, got to live while we can//It's happening right now//It’s not something you can plan.” - Plain Jane Glory
